The 9th Indian Youth Science Congress (IYSC) will be held during April 07-09, 2018 at Career Point University, Hamirpur (HP). The conference is an annual event that provides an opportunity for young researchers to present their work. The 9th edition of the congress is being jointly organized by M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, SRM University Chennai, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development Chennai, Career Point University Hamirpur (HP) and Kota (Rajasthan).

This year the theme is "Role of young scientists in developing new India", that focuses on Vision of New India viz Skill India, Clean India, Start Up India, Digital India, Smart cities, and Stand-up India. It will deliberate inter alia on Technological Innovations; Nutritional Health & Food Security; Climate Change & Carbon Sinks; Early Warning Signals; Natural Resources and Biodiversity; Traditional Wisdom; Vision of youth for India; Mathematical Modelling of Physical and Engineering Problems etc. Young students and researchers are being invited to submit their solutions using science and technology for future India.

It is expected that there will be lot of interest of students for participation.

  • The First Indian Youth Science Congress was held from June 5-7 at the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute for Youth Development, Sriperumbudur. The focal theme for the Congress was “Youth and Shaping the Future of Innovations in Science for Societal Needs”
  • The Second Indian Youth Science Congress was held from June 26 -28 at the SRM University.  The focal theme for the Congress was “Science & Society”.
  • The Third Indian Youth Science Congress was held from November 3-5, 2011 at NASC Complex, New Delhi. The focal theme for the Congress was “Youth and Agenda 21: Shaping a Sustainable Future”.
  • The Fourth Indian Youth Science Congress was held from November 9 - 11, 2012 at Vasantrao Deshpande Sabhagruh Hall, Nagpur. The focal theme for the Congress was “Young Scientists and Shaping India’s Future”.
  • The Fifth Indian Youth Science Congress was organized by M.S. Swaminathan Resarch Foundation during December 6 - 9, 2013 at Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal. The focal theme for the Congress was “Leading Mind into Ever-widening Thought and Action”.
  • The Sixth Indian Youth Science Congress was held from 19 – 21 January 2015 at Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The focal theme for the Congress was “Science and the Zero Hunger Challenge”.
  • The Seventh Indian Youth Science Congress was held from 26 - 28 February 2016 at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The focal theme for the Congress was “Young Scientists & The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals”.
  • The Eighth Indian Youth Science Congress was held from 16 - 18 February 2017 at University of Mumbai, Maharashtra. The focal theme for the Congress was “Food for All in the Anthropocene Era”.
  • The 9th India Youth Science Congress will be held during April 7-9, 2018 at Career Point University, Hamirpur (H.P.). The focal them for the 9th IYSC is “Role of young scientists in developing new India”.
